Peter Thurrell
Owner
Peter started building passive solar houses in California in 1976. Starting in 1995, he spent 12 years living in Auroville, an international community of about 2,000 people in southern India. There he was responsible for designing, installing and maintaining both the photovoltaic and solar hot water systems for the community where he lived.
Peter started Soveren in the fall of 2008.
Simon Piluski
Lead Electrician and Installer
Simon has been a certified NABCEP installer since 2009. He joined Soveren in the summer of 2010 as Soveren’s chief electrician. Simon has worked in industrial and residential electrical design and installation for over ten years.Josh Hilsdon
Sales and Installer
Josh, a native of Putney, attended Clark University where he received a BA in Environmental Studies. He has worked at the intersection of energy and the environment on utility green power and energy efficiency programs, and as an advocate for policies supporting the development of renewable energy. Josh joined Soveren in July of 2010, and is proud to have helped install more than 200 kW of solar in his childhood stomping grounds.
Teal Pulsifer
Project Manager and Installer
Teal joined Soveren in the Spring of 2011. He is a jack of all trades and has worked on everything from timber frame construction to electrical wiring to internet advertising. He graduated from Marlboro College in 2003 and has been living in the area ever since. Teal is a long time friend of the Thurrell family, having grown up in Auroville.
Maria Thurrell
Office Manager
Maria joined the company early in 2010. A week after graduating from Boston University in 2008, she started a social media marketing and public relations company in Boston, which she ran for 2 years before moving to Vermont to help out with the family business.
